Our method of teaching BJJ is centered around "The Able Approach"

Based loosely on Unity Jiu-Jitsu's (NY Based BJJ School led by Murilo Santana) "The Able Approach" method and philosphy of Jiu-Jitsu. We teach fundamentals and concepts as we believe everyone is capable of creativity, innovation and problem solving which enables them to learn at their own pace. Our goal is to cultivate this talent and ability to "self-teach". Our BJJ programs focus on the following:

BJJ Fundamentals & Concepts

All our programs are based around teaching fundamentals & concepts that enable accelerated development and learning. We focus on teaching the basics of BJJ & MMA Grappling.

Proven Curriculum

Throughout the years we have developed a curriculum for kids, youths & adults that enable them to stick to learning only what has proven successful in competition. We are now affiliated with Black Belt Professor Chris Bonfoco of Team Ascension who oversees promotion & ranking.

Enhance Discipline & Confidence

Our programs teach kids, youths and even adults discipline and consistency which helps them achieve their goals whether it be self-defense, competition or just loosing weight and having fun! The side-effects are confident kids and youths who are respectful and productive at home/school & everday life.

Class Schedules

We are currently operational in San Ignacio offering Kids & Youth/Adult classes on Friday's & Saturdays. Expanded schedules coming soon.

Kids BJJ

For ages 5-12 this class teaches kids the basics of Gi BJJ incorporating fun workouts using games, drills & sparring!

Youth/Adults BJJ

Gi BJJ for youths & adults ages 13+. We focus on concepts and fundamentals for rapid progression.

MMA Grappling

A competition based class with focus on MMA Grappling incorporating striking defense, no-gi concepts & MMA basics. No Gi is required, MMA Gloves & Mouth-Pieces are good to have.

Coaching Team

Most classes are taught by Coach Israel who is a brown belt in BJJ and has experience teaching kids & youths in Belize City. He was one of the founders of the Belize Jiu-Jitsu Social project which saw the implementation of a Kids BJJ program in Belize City. Professor Chris Bonfoco oversees all aspects of promotion and ranking for the team as well as the wider Team Ascencion in Belize. Coach Blayne is a BJJ brown belt and as well as experienced Kickboxing competitor and coach. She teaches in Spanish Lookout and works directly with the competition team on their visits.
